Feature request: create a token for the link to the active task

asked on June 11, 2020

Is it possible to tokenize the link to the active task that currently only goes out with the task notification email?  I refer to the checkbox on the email notification that says "Show default task link"

Providing a token for this link would accomplish two things:

  1. We can choose where in the email we wish to place the task link.  Trying to craft the wording of various emails can be difficult when trying to reference that particular link when it can only appear by itself at the bottom of the email, particularly when the email has multiple links in it.
  2. Reminder emails triggered by timer events could contain a link to the active task (I don't loop back to the task anymore; interrupting the activity has caused us some serious headaches).

That's actually what we did :)

We kept the option to "Show default task link" so as not to break current behavior. If you want to customize the link, you can uncheck "show default task link" and look in the token picker for task_link. You can also use custom HTML if you want to embed the link under some other custom text.

(Jason beat me to it)

For the second item, we are planning to implement a more out-of-the-box reminder email function. This would allow you to set up reminder emails on the user task without having to build it into your process. We are writing out requirements for this feature now, but it should support emailing just the assigned to user (as opposed to the whole team) and how often to send the reminder.

Well, that's handy!  I don't know how I missed that; thank you!

For the first item, they did add a token for the link (I believe at the same time they added the checkbox).
