Outlook Integration Settings - New Documents (Where are they stored?)

asked on June 11, 2020

I noticed that most of the "New Documents - Outlook" settings provided by the Windows Client are not available in the Web Client.  I have users that want to set default values for these "Save to Laserfiche" settings, but only have the web client.  Is there a place in their Windows registry (or somewhere) where I can set these defaults for them?  I've looked at the "LFOfficePlugin" items in the registry including "Software\Laserfiche\LFOfficePlugin\Folder MRU\OUTLOOK", but have not found any settings related to Outlook emails and attachments.  Where are these settings stored?

Hi Eric,

The Outlook Import settings are stored in user attributes. The Web Client doesn't expose all the Outlook Import options in the UI, but it will still read and respect the user attributes that are set from the Windows Client.

Do you want your users to have an identical set of defaults for Outlook Imports? If so, your best bet is to:

  1. Sign into Web Client
  2. Go to the user name drop down and navigate to the Management page
  3. Go to the Integrations tab in the left
  4. Go to the Outlook Imports tab in the center

This tab allows you to set global defaults in your repository for Outlook settings. You'll notice that global defaults section includes some of the options that are missing from the Web Client Options page.

If you'd like users to have individualized Outlook Import settings, your best bet is to:

  1. Set the option from the Windows Client
  2. Manually apply the attribute to the user in the Admin Console or Web Client Management page.

I recommend using the Web Client options page  or Windows Client where possible rather than applying attributes. That said, if you'd like, I can provide a comprehensive list of each of the attributes, their accepted values, and which options in the UI they correspond to.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I'm really looking for the ability to set user-specific defaults for those Outlook settings.  My user does not have Windows Client, so Option 1 would not be doable unless I could set it for them using my Windows Client (installed on my machine).  Option 2 does not allow for me to set values for a specific user, right? Am I misunderstanding what those actions would allow me to do?  If I could set user-specific attributes, then yes, I would appreciate a comprehensive list of attributes as you mentioned.

Hi Eric,

The attributes in the attached text file should do the trick.

Ryan have these codes changed in version 11? I am seeing this:

that value in the _OptionsFlags doesn't line up with the options in your attached file.

Thanks for this, it is exactly the info I am looking for!
