Question

Mass removal of disabled users in LFDS 10.4

asked on May 28, 2020

What is the best way for me to mass remove 615 disabled users in LFDS? Can I remove them from the directory_objects table in SQL without breaking anything?

Thank you,

David

Can you tell us more about why you want to delete them? Is it just visual clutter?

AD Sync has an option to remove them when they're deleted from active directory.

The users you want to remove, are they actual Laserfiche Users or do you have your users tied to Active Directory?

They are tied to an AD group. One for full named and one for retrieval licenses. I thought that LFDS 10.4 would remove them after a sync, but it doesn't.

Hi Miruna, I did want cleanup the visual clutter. I wasn't not aware that feature existed when I upgraded to 10.4. I will try that. Thank you!

David,

You can go here to see how to setup synch rules with Active Directory

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/LFDS/Content/EnableActiveDirectorySyncForIdentityProviders.htm?Highlight=synchronization

I use this and it will grant licenses and remove licenses as users are added and removed from the Active Directory Groups.

Steve
