Hi Priya, I think that you can't create an xls file,
but what you can do it's to use an ODBC that links to a xls in a path and use it as a template , and with some sdk script on a workflow or Import Agent you can upload that file into Laserfiche;
With the Insert Data Activity and the proper data source to the ODBC you can modify the xls and when you finish you can restore your template to leave it clear again with some sdk script on workflow so you can delete it and then copy your template on the same path of the odbc reads , and repeat this process as many times as you need
But again this is a little bit outside the box
