Script reference error with Workflow 10.4.2.246

asked on May 18, 2020

We upgraded Workflow from 10.3 to 10.4.2.246, and the script reference to Laserfiche.Repository.Access.dll broke.

This is normally a simple matter of pointing the reference to the new version, but in this case it throws a further error: Referenced Assembly ‘Laserfiche.RepositoryAccess.dll’ could not be resolved because it references the unresolved assembly, ‘Microsoft.Diagnostics.Tracing.EventSource.dll’

Is there a work around for this?  I could not find a direct reference to Microsoft.Diagnostics.Tracing.EventSource.dll

Note that the loaded assembly is 10.4.2.72:

Thanks, Miruna - We don't have Weblink in this installation, but did re-install Web Access.  Could that have caused the same issue?

Not likely. What other Laserfiche products are installed?

This is a Development machine, so the only thing not installed is the Directory Server.  The list is:  Laserfiche, DCC, WF, Import Agent, Web Client, Audit Trail, Quick Fields. Forms.  But the good news is that removing the dll from the GAC and running Workflow repair has solved the issue. Resolving the reference in one task (This time it was a warning which went away after building) also solved it for other rules where we also had a task.

Here are the versions:

Thanks!

Can you give me the exact versions of those products, please?

We've identified this as an issue caused by the Forms 10.4.3 installation. It only affects the script editor in Workflow, any published scripts will continue running fine. So will any activities that interact with the repository.

It is best that you delete RA and repair Forms to get the newer version (which has some Forms-specific fixes). Then copy Microsoft.Diagnostics.Tracing.EventSource.dll from the Forms bin directory (by default, <Program Files>\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Forms\Forms\bin) and add it to the WF install directory.

Running into this issue on a new server with fresh installations, no WebLink or Forms. Is it possible that Import Agent 10.4 is causing it and, if so, is there a safe way to correct the problem?

Yes, that's possible. Newer versions of RepositoryAccess have a dependency on that library. We'll fix KB 1014128 to have a copy. In the meantime, Tech Support can provide a copy.

KB article is updated and did the trick.

Thanks Miruna - It also appears that Forms and the Web Client services got killed.  Per Support, I'll be uninstalling and reinstalling both products.
