Question

Forms login has lots of latency

asked on May 13, 2020

I currently have a deployment of LF Forms (latest version) that is running off of LFDS authentication for my users. Both the forms server and the LFDS server are within the domain, but when a user (myself included) types in our windows credentials to login (LFDS users are AD users) it will hang for 30 seconds or more before pushing to the Forms inbox/console. What needs to be done to speed things up? My deployment of LF Web client in the DMZ takes windows credentials and is lightning fast to login. I appreciate any info!

You need to identify which module cause the latency first: LFDS or Forms. You can use https://www.telerik.com/fiddler to record the tracfics for login Forms. Then check the time for each request to identify which request is slow.

If it is taking the same time every time then it means that something is trying to do something, timing out, and then it falls back and does what you see. Have a look at your event logs to see what it could be.
