Receiving error 9045 when trying to add a new field in template

Hi LF Community,

I am working on a requirement where we need to add a new field to a template. When I create and add new field to the template and click on "Apply" to save the changes, I am receiving below error :

The operation cannot be complete because an object is locked. [9045]

Please assist me on this issue.

Hi Faraz,

 

This error on larger systems is usually because the system is still updating the millions of entries which have this template applied.

 

Just be patient, it will complete eventually and unlock. smiley

Do you have any entries in the repository with that template that are locked? It could be trying to add the field (with a blank value) to the locked entry when you add it to the template.

I know that in the SQL table for the metadata it stores empty field values, so it's quite possible this is the issue.
