Close Form After Submission

posted on April 29, 2020

Whilst building a Form for a customer, they have requested that when the form is submitted it closes the window/tab once submitted.

There is no "Clean" way to do this other than assigning another user task with a form to the user in the business process with custom html with Script with a close.window then a timer to interrupt that step and continue the process after 5 mins.

Has anybody else ran into this problem and found a "Cleaner" solution?

It may be a feature request to add the ability to close the window once submitted rather than a thank you message, as when the process is automatically assigned to the initiator it will display the thank you message from the first step in the forms submission.

Thank You Anthony!  It works perfectly.

Hi Anthony,

You can put the JavaScript to close the window in the HTML of the "thank you" page.

The "Thank You" page still appears in the tab, yes this works, however they don't want it displayed at all.

ie Click Submit > Form Submits and closes tab/window.

I don't think you can do that unless Laserfiche builds something in. It submit the form and redirects in the same event, and I'm only able to get an event listener to execute after the submission but before the page change.

Hey Jim this works great. I was wondering if you knew how to put a delay in there? Maybe like 2 or 3 seconds.

Did anyone ever discover a way to close the window?
