How do you handle requests for new LF Forms/Processes?

posted on April 24, 2020

I'm interested to hear about how you handle requests for new LF Forms/Processes.

Do you use a LF Form to capture the request?

Do you have a formal process for approving/prioritizing requests?

What works well in your organization?

Thanks in advance!

We have a form that people fill out with 5 meaningful questions on it and an upload of additional supporting documentation.

The questions I ask are:

1. Please define the project (What is the scope of the process, and what do you want this process to accomplish)?

2. What is the current process (How do you do this process now and ask them to upload a flow diagram of the current process)?

3. What activities MUST happen for this process to flow smoothly start to finish?

4. Who are the people involved in this process and do these people already have Laserfiche Licenses?

5. What is the desired method for knowledge transfer?  (How will the transfer of knowledge happen from one person or step in the process to the next?  For instance, via email, or verbally, or by some other means.)

I require there be a Project Leader, a Project Decision Maker, and the submitter's information.

Do you have any sort of approval/prioritization process, or does everything that's requested get built?

We have a team that reviews them to see if we believe that Laserfiche will be the best solution.  Then we have a discussion with the submitter.  Not everything that is requested gets a Laserfiche process, but most do.
