Question

Search Repository does not appear in LaserFiche Cloud

asked on April 20, 2020 Show version history

Good afternoon,
We performed a demo for a client using AVANTE, in which we used the search repository option workflow to perform a search by template. The client requested the demo but in LaserFiche Cloud, but we cannot do it because we did not find the option to Search for a repository in Cloud WorkFlow.

How can I do a search by template using LF Cloud?

We have been told by LF that that process is too processor intense for the cloud system and if everybody was using it, the servers would bog down.  We have multiple use cases where it would be nice. . .just not available yet.

Hi Bryan,

Could you share more about your use cases? This will help us ensure that we can best support everyone's needs for the feature when it comes to Cloud.

Quite often there are processes that move files/folders as part of the process and one person may not know where in the process it is. . .so easier way to find items in transit so to speak.  This is replicated in concept across multiple use cases, common in prosecutor's offices and HR processes.

Oh this too bad. Repository search is very basic for workflow, since it allows you locate documents by name of template or using search quertys and be able to use them to affect certain documents by moving them folder or assigning them fields and data.

Search repository via workflow is not available in Cloud. However, we are working to bring this functionality to Cloud.

Hi Ian,

It would be extremely helpful to be able to locate a file based on data in a metadata field. I do not believe this is possible currently.

Thanks,

Henry
