Question

Laserfiche 5 Advanced search syntax

asked on April 10, 2020

Hello,

I'm lucky to be old enough to have started working with Laserfiche 4: congratulations LF for the great job done since then.

Currently I have a case of a client who needs to restore old Volumes from Version 5. I know the procedure but I forgot how to:

1. Search in LF Version 5 the documents belonging to a specific volume: the equivalent of {Volume:ID=1}

2. Export the search result list outside LF to use in Excel.

Does anyone know/remember if the above was possible, and how?

Thank you in advance and best regards,

I think advanced search syntax goes back that far, so you might just try it. As for exporting the results, I guess it was probably possible, but we don't have any test systems to check on. You might consult the printed manuals, if you or the customer still has them.

A more predictable approach would be to query the SQL tables directly. All you need is the name column from the toc table, which I believe has the volume id.
