Question

Laserfiche forms delegation when user is Out of Office/ on vacation

asked on April 1, 2020

Hi There,

Can anyone share your thoughts on this? previously there are lots of discussion on this but seems there is not a suitable solution on this.

so far , to cope with someone is on leave, there are ways to handle but seems this is not practical at all:

1.) manually reassign team/role members: it is impossible to request customer to change teams/PIC when someone is on leave manually.

2.) manually reassign task to someone else: this is impossible to ask admin to monitor tasks and change the task owner one by one

3.) to monitor if the task is idled for some time: i am now making a e-procurement workflow with hundred of steps. it is impossible to add a timer/event listener to EACH of the step.

4.) to put the task in a team instead of user: by doing so the inbox is useless because all task will be put in "unassigned task"

Any roadmap on handling delegation? I would suggest something like: create a form to enter my on leave/delegation target, save that in database, and when i assign someone to a task i can use filter to check the target delegation before assign the task to the user.

or directly to share the task inbox to target delegate user, right now we can access team task inbox already, possible to allow somewhere to set sharing my inbox to others?

Thank you very much for your attention.

I'm with you on this Jason. We've yet to find a solution either.

I would like to request a feature to simply allow an admin to choose a user and delegate/reassign every task assigned to them. If an employee is terminated, it becomes a monumental feat to reassign the individual tasks manually.

We'd also love to see this feature. It would be great if there was a way for a Team Manager or even the user, to flag themselves or a user as 'Out of Office' with a date range - and then specify an alternate user for assigning any of their tasks within that period.
