Question

Can't Uncutoff

asked on March 29, 2020 Show version history

Why would I not be able to cutoff a record?

1. Create a document in Laserfiche and give it a cutoff instruction and retention schedule.

2. Since I am in a demo environment, to show cutoff I then change the filing date to a few years before and hit save.  Now the record can be cutoff so I do so.

3. Now there doesnt seem to be a place to uncutoff the record.

Nothing in the properties either.   For demo purposes, we obviously need to back date the file date when we import records to show retention and such.  I seem to have these documents now that I cannot delete or cutoff.  How can I get rid of these?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

This is expected behavior as far as I know. It would go against the point of the cutoff if someone could simply remove the cutoff, edit it, and then cut it off again.

As for getting rid of the example documents that are cutoff, you should be able to change the retention schedule to one that's "destroy immediately" and then destroy them.

Actually it turns out that uncutoff was moved to a different menu in a recent version.

From the Folder Browser only, select the document, then click the three dots in the upper right -> Record Actions -> Uncut off.
