Question

Submitted Form is hanging in in-progress in an exclusive get way.

asked on March 27, 2020

Hello,

In Laserfiche Form 10.4.3

A user has submitted form, after the message start event there's a parallel get-way which splits two path one with email service task and  an end event and the other with an exclusive get way and several user tasks. One with an email service task and an end event is completed, the other channel with exclusive get way and user task is not seen in the monitor but the status shows it is in progress. i restarted Laserfiche form routing service but didn't help. Why does this happen? and how can I solve this.

I designed a process based on your description as following with Forms 10.4.3:

And run the process, it can go through the exclusive gateway:

Can you reproduce the issue if you run a new instance of the process? Can you reproduce if you copy the process and run the copied process?

The email service task took 6 days to execute which seems unnormal, did it be retried because if was suspended before?

Yes email service was in-progress the whole time until it was retried. The forms do not hang like that all the time, it happens once in a while with different processes. The other time like 5 submitted forms were hanging, after restarting the LF  Routing service they proceeded with the next stage. This time  5 submitted forms were hanging and i came to notice that a week later, i restarted LF Routing service but didn’t help. The forms of the same process that users submit now proceed perfectly, But  5 of 11 forms submitted 18th march are still hanging.

You can open a support case with a backup of your Forms database and events logs(Windows Logs->Application(filter with "Laserfiche Forms Routing Service") and logs from Applications and Servers->Laserfiche->Forms->App). We can do further trouble shooting to check why the instance become stuck and how to resolve it.
