LF Windows Client Search for TIF Files

posted on March 23, 2020

Hello,

I am working with a customer to search a set of Client Folders->Sub-Folders looking for just TIF files, using the following Search Syntax, but it just spins forever.

I even tested this on a Folder that I knew had one TIF and it still just spun with no results:

({LF:Name="*", Type="DB"} - {LF:Ext="*"})

I tested this on my LF System and it returned the appropriate hits in a matter of 2-3 seconds.

Customer has Search Rights, so not sure what else it could be.

LF Client Version 9.0

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Hello Justin,

We did a few other searches in the Repository that returned results without issue.  For some reason just the TIF just spins.

The User is not a LF Admin, so I am going to try and work with their 3rd Party IT on the Server side to look at the Search Configuration.  Thanks for the link.

Jeff,

Do any searches return results?  You have probably tried this but I am curious if there is a problem with the search engine configuration or port/firewall issue.

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/laserfiche/9.0/en-us/adminguide/lfadmin.htm#search_engine_configuration_utility.htm?Highlight=search

If you were to run a search within windows itself (bypassing Laserfiche) does it take unexpectedly long?  This would rule out some other performance issues.

Regards,

Justin
