We switched to 10.4.2 a few months ago. Our accounts payable person has held off because she can't search our list of vendors anymore. We were previously on 10.3.1(i'll get the exact version number and edit this post) and it worked fine. Somewhere in between it broke.
I've attached a screenshot of what i'm talking about. We have ~1500 vendors in that list, it pulls from our accounting software database. Normally our AP employee will type in there to search as she knows most of them by heart or at least what they start with. So to look up West company(made up) she would normally type in "w" "e" "s" "t" when the menu was open and each letter would filter down the results. So first is the W vendors, then the WE vendors, then WES, and finally WEST, which there are over 10 of.
in 10.4.2 (10.4.2.236), what it does is it searches by W, then it searches by E(E vendors), then by S, and finally by T. So you end up looking at the Ts. I've found that if you go at the perfect speed, maybe 2.5 - 3 characters per second. It will search like normal, but it's really hard to find the sweet spot.
Are there any workarounds or fixes? or should we just keep her at 10.3.1? She's a very heavy i/o user so a delay to something little like this piles up quickly in her workload.
