Laserfiche mobile configuration - Cannot connect to the Laserfiche Forms Server

asked on March 19, 2020

Hello all I am working from home during these unprecedented times.  I am trying to get our Forms portal and Mobile configuration complete in order streamline some of our processes.  I am very close to getting this completed but I'm having an issue related to the mobile configuration.  From my iPhone I can login to our repository, but only if nothing is configured for Forms in the mobile configuration.  When I try to configure the Laserfiche Forms Server in the Mobile Configuration page I get and error stating https://externalformsserver.org/Forms:  Cannot connect to the Laserfiche server.  We are authenticating through LFDS with a 2nd instance of STS also in the DMZ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you access https://externalformsserver.org/Forms from browser on the Mobile server? The Forms server URL needs to end with "/", so it should be https://externalformsserver.org/Forms/

No I cannot access https://externalformsserver.org/Forms from the mobile server, which is in the DMZ.  I can access this page from my laptop and other workstations, but not the DMZ server.

That is the problem, the Mobile Server need to be able to connect to the Forms server using the URL provided

Thanks Xiuhong.  This ended up being an issue with DNS on our DMZ server.  I had to allow DNS traffic from the DMZ to the internal Laserfiche server.  I am about 99% complete at this point.  My only issue now is with Google Chrome and Edge (New Chromium version) stating the self-signed cert is invalid when navigating to https://internalserver.domain.local/.  Firefox and IE on the other hand accept the certificate.

The self signed certificate may cause many issues in the future, I suggest you use certificate from a trusted 3rd party provider for the DMZ machine

I do have a trusted cert from GoDaddy for our external facing site.  My issue was regarding the certificate between the DMZ server and the internal server.  I ended up reissuing the certificate using PowerShell, adding a Subject Alternative Name.  After applying the new certificate and reconfiguring LDFS SSO I was able to push out a GPO with the new cert to the Trusted Root Authority.  Google Chrome and Edge now show the certificate as valid.
