Certification - Knowledge exams are tough

asked on March 17, 2020 Show version history

I seems like these knowledge exams are difficult. Some questions carry some subjectivity, and sometimes I find there are questions that weren't covered in training videos. Anybody else feel this way? What happens if I fail an exam twice?

Just relax and you'll be fine. Take advantage of the admin manual. Also, try screen capping the exam questions so that you'll have reference if you have to take it again. Finally, if you do fail, you can write them and they'll likely give you more chances.

I just failed the Building Forms exam twice, and I plan to email the address above to request more attempts.

Like you, I also felt that a lot of the questions had multiple possible right answers and that several of the topics in the exam weren't included in the lessons. Many questions seemed to focus on how to use forms, even though the course was about designing forms and business processes; Using Forms is an entirely different course. I will be submitting feedback that the exam was a poor reflection of the course materials.

I don't quite understand why there are only two possible attempts on the exams. Is there a way to review what questions you missed after the first attempt? I was only able to review my right and wrong answers after my second (failed) attempt, but perhaps I missed a review button the first time.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for this feedback and yes please email us at Certification@Laserfiche.com about resetting your exam.

If you find exam questions that are not covered in a course, please complete a "Certification Inquires and Requested Updates" form to route these issues directly to our course designers. The "Certification Inquires and Requested Updates" form can be found in Aspire, under the "feedback" menu.

You can review incorrect exam responses by:

  1. Navigating to the failed test
  2. Clicking View Training Details
  3. Clicking Review under the Review Test header
  4. This brings you to the Review Questions page where each question  is marked correct or incorrect

This doesn't help when the question is: "Which of the following is true?"  or "Which of the following is true about repository creation?"  as most of the questions are formatted.  The choices are not shown, so the context of the question is missing giving us no idea of what to go study.

Hi Debra, Can you email aspire@laserfiche.com with a specific example of what you're describing here to help us better understand the issue? I'm not sure what you mean by 'the choices are not shown'. Thank you for helping us improve the learning experience.

Hi Addison,

Please feel free to email us at Certification@Laserfiche.com if you run into any issues with your courses or run out of exam attempts. If you find exam questions that are not covered in a course, please complete a "Certification Inquires and Requested Updates" form to route these issues directly to our course designers. The "Certification Inquires and Requested Updates" form can be found in Aspire, under the "feedback" menu.

Michael's advice about screen capping questions for reference is also wonderful advice.

Best of luck with your Business Process Certification, and again feel free to email us at Certification@Laserfiche.com anytime.

Hi Laura, thank you for the response. I actually was just in the middle of taking the Building Laserfiche Workflows exam (knowledge exam), and I was met with a 404 error (see attached screenshot) halfway through and could not progress. I was forced to X out of the browser, and now it's telling me that I failed the exam with a 20%. Can you help with this?
