Question

weblink requires a username and password on our website

asked on March 10, 2020

We're using Weblink to enable document search of our repository.  All of a sudden when we click on our link we have on our website to get to the laserfiche repository it is requiring a username and password.  Any ideas on why and how I can fix this?  Attached is a picture of the error from our server.

Here's one idea. It's easy to check, so I always start here.

Did anyone update WebLink recently? Sometimes you can end up changing the authentication settings if you don't know what to look for.

In IIS, select the WebLink application, and open up Authentication. Make sure that anonymous authentication is enabled, and that all other items are disabled.

The password needed to be reset for the anonymous authentication.  Looks like it's fixed.
