Question

LDAP Account names getting really strange usernames again

asked on March 9, 2020

After adding a user under LDAP Accounts we are getting these super long usernames that look like this.

This username is way to long for the user to type, how do we shorten this back to their display name@profilename

CN=User Name,OU=First OU, OU=Second OU, DC=Domain,DC=ext

I found the workaround is to manually re-type the username to the correct username format after selecting the user and before saving.

Hi Chad,

I am seeing this when trying to add AD users. Unfortunately for AD users we are unable to modify the username before saving. Wonder what might cause LFDS to see the user name as that long string.

Is there any breakthrough in this issue? We are facing the same where the user names are long and would really like it to be display name.
