Looking for some insight on the Office 365 integration and its possible capabilities

I am working on recreating a current SharePoint(SP) process in which a word document is generated based on SP metadata. At any time while the document remains unarchived a user can change a metadata field (let's say a unique number) and SP will apply the corresponding change to the word document that is being collaborated on.

I have already built out the concept of creating the word document from Laserfiche Form metadata. What I am unsure of is if the Office 365 integration, that allows co-authoring from the web client, will allow me to change the word document again based on a change to a template field?

I am also working on getting the Microsoft offline online server installed so I can configure the 365 integration to

I am currently testing out using the Update Word activity, but I am pretty sure that will end up overwriting the current document, thus losing any edits that may have.

Thanks in advance,
