Question

Does LF Mobile App (version 2020.2.4) currently work on iPhones? iOS?

asked on March 4, 2020

Hi there, a client has told me that the LF Mobile App (2020.2.4) is not working on her iPhone (version 13.3.1) and keeps crashing.

I've also tried it on a different iPhone.
I found that after signing in to a server/repository, while on the repository screen (sees the entries and folder structure) the app will run for less than 5 seconds and then crash.

After a couple of attempts (sign in -> sees inside repository > crash) a modal popped up saying 'hostname could not be parsed'.
Android phones have no issue and the Mobile/LF server url, repository used for both tests are the same.

Are other iOS users having similar experiences?

Hi Ray

In the Mobile configuration,

In Connections>Repositories area I changed the Server name to the FQDN ie: servername.domain.com

I also have Single Sign On turned off

In Connections>Repository Settings, I removed the Domain name (left it blank)

I can now log into the Repository if I set the Forms Server to None.

Still working on logging into Forms Server

Let me know if this is the same for you

Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for your reply!

It does seems the crash occurs when the app attempts to make connections to the forms server as I see multiple pop ups that flash and disappear on the lines of 'Connection Error' & 'Too Many Requests'.

Then following your suggestion, I was able to log onto the repository by not connecting to the forms server.

I will open a support case with LF and will update the thread when the issue resolves.

Hi there Ray,

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the iOS app? Maybe that will help. If it does not help, I would suggest to file a support case. The development team will gladly help with this issue, but they will need more information. Thanks.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for your reply. I did try uninstalling and reinstalling the iOS app but unfortunately it haven't resolved the issue. It seems the issue occurs when the app is attempting to make a connection to the forms server. I will open a support case to try resolve the issue.
