Question

iFrame document load time for Web Client vs Weblink

asked on February 28, 2020

Hey guys,

I am working on a form that I would like to use an iframe to load a document in our repository.

We need the document to be public access so my go-to was WebLink.

Unfortunately, Weblink is very slow at loading PDFs.. When I setup the iframe to load the same document through Web Client and Weblink, the web client loaded all 20+ pages almost instantly, while Weblink only loads the document if I slowly scroll through it and takes upwards of 10 seconds to load it.

See below:

Web Client load on refresh

WebLink

Has anyone experienced these issues, and does anyone know how I can fix the Weblink to load the same as the WebClient?

Which version of the Web Client and WebLink are you using? I know WebLink 10.2 was released recently and had a lot of work around PDFs.

We are on 10.1.0.60 for Weblink and 10.4 (10.4.1.35) for WebClient

I would try updating to WebLink 10.2 and see if that behaves better.

That version of WebLink has major issues with PDFs.

As Blake suggested, please try upgrading to WebLink 10.2 which contains numerous PDF enhancements over 10.1.0.60.

Make sure to backup your existing WebLink configuration using the WebLink Settings Bundler Utility first! (C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink\WebLink\Utilities)

I will try updating Weblink in the next couple of weeks to see if the results change. Thank you both for your suggestions.
