Quickfields - the request timed out - Over WAN connection

asked on February 24, 2020

There seems to be a built in time out for the total time to store each document in the repository. If the document does not finish storing within a few minutes it gives you this message that the request timed out and cancels storing.

In this case we have a 71 page color document with an average of 8MB per page. QF seems to reach a limit of around 14Mbps over WAN (where Mb is 1/8th of a MB) and at this rate it is impossible to get all 71 pages stored before reaching the timeout.

How are others handling WAN scanning sessions?

To expand on this:

  • Does Laserfiche have an official position on remote WAN setup for optimal functionality?  I.e., should the user set up a specific type of infrastructure, such that WAN speed does not prevent Quick Fields storage functions from timing out?
  • If Quick Fields has a built-in timeout feature, can that be updated to allow a longer timeout for larger documents on slow WANs?
