Workflow is really easy to work with. Start by creating a flowchart, even simply writing it out on a piece of paper, of what you want a specific Workflow to do and then, once you have it figured, then you can start working it into the software. Just remember a few things:

  • Workflow can call other Workflows, so take this into consideration when designing any process.
  • Small workflow are always better than large one. Splitting a process up into smaller Workflows that do their specific task and then call another on completion is good practice.
  • Once you know what you want, or you know what you are unable to figure out how to do something, then Answers is the perfect place to search for an answer or ask your question relating to the specific roadblock you have encountered.

Happy workflowing.

Laserfiche just released their new online learning platform, Aspire, that has some great courses for getting started with learning Workflow and other aspects of the suite.

You can find it under the main support site under 'Learning Resources', and the large orange button that says 'Aspire'.

Otherwise, since you said you want to self learn, the documentation for Workflow can be found here:

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/LFWorkflow/Content/Resources/Overview.htm

The subsection that will be most relevant would be the Workflow Designer portion since that dives into creating workflows and how specific activities work:
