Multiple Time Catch Events Triggered after 10.4 Forms update

asked on February 18, 2020

We did the update to Forms 10.4.2.381 over the weekend and since the update any existing time catch events are triggering 12 times.  These were all working properly and only triggering once before the update.  Any suggestions on this?  Thanks

Hi Gina,

I tried a process similar to yours but did not recreate the issue. Probably we need more details.

If the issue persists, could you please open a support case and answer the following questions?

  1. which version were you in before update to 10.4.2.381?
  2. is every timer triggered only 12 times or keep repeat?
  3. can you give a screenshot of the full history of an instance that contains problematic timer? looks like https://www.screencast.com/t/lFPv7dtttM5u (please show all steps of the instance, and their status, start date, end date, duration)
  4. do you have timers in other processes? if so, are they timers work fine after the update?
  5. is there any error in the Forms event log? (find from Event Viewer, Applications and Service Logs -> Laserfiche -> Forms -> App -> Admin & Operational) If there is, please give the log

Then we will do further investigation.smiley

Thanks,

Yuqin

Hi Gina,

Thank you for reporting this issue! We've located the problem and now working on fixing the defect, thank you.

If you are still struggling with this issue, please try the workaround as the following:

  1. Filter Event ID 3016 from Event Viewer->Applications and Services Logs->Laserfiche->Forms->App->Operational as https://www.screencast.com/t/Q4kFs30kfb, find the events with error "[LFF3016-InvalidTimerConfiguration]".
  2. Find the Business Process Name and  Instance ID from the filtered event logs
  3. Open Monitor page for Forms, filter the business process and add the "Instance ID" column to the instances list, search for the Instance ID
  4. Select the instance and retry the timer event
  5. Repeat step 2 to 4 if there are multiple error log with Event ID 3016
  6. Restart the Laserfiche Forms Routing Service

Hopefully, it works for you. Please let me know if you get any trouble or question.

Thanks,

Yuqin

We have opened a ticket with our VAR but we need Laserfiche to take a deeper look at this.

This continues to be an issue.  The suggested resolution doesn’t  appear to apply to us.  We don’t receive this event: LFF3016-InvalidTimerConfiguration.

We thought this was just in process instances before our update that we did but it is happening with some new instances after the update.

We fixed an issue(230937) for repeatable timer in 10.4.3 Update 1(https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014151/list-of-changes-for-laserfiche-forms-10-4-3-update-1):A repeatable boundary timer no longer executes multiple times when there is an in progress timer catch event that should suspend when upgrading from 10.4.1, and after the routing engine is restarted.

You can install Forms 10.4.3 then apply the Update 1, or upgrade to the coming Forms 10.4.4 which will be released this month.
