Is there a way to extract attachments from outlook emails to move to network folder to be processed through quickfields for splitting and obtaining metadata?

extracting attachments from outlook to move to network folder to be processed through quickfields

A user can click and drag an attachment to a Laserfiche folder being watched by quickfields. If the user doesn't have Laserfiche they can drag the attachment to a network share being watched by import agent which then deposits the file in the repository where quickfields can process it.
You can do automatic email grabbing from Exchange with Import Agent Email Archive.
If they are going to be processed with QF, why do they need to be on the network? Use Laserfiche Capture Engine in QF to pull directly from LF. As Erik said, you can use the Email Import utility to strip attachments and workflow to move them to the folder that QF processes. Or setup the settings on the user level and have the user drag/drop
Ok. I am not familiar with how that process works. Laserfiche can strip the email attachment and place it in the quickfields capture location?
Sure, depends on what you mean by Laserfiche though. When you drag and drop and email in you can choose to file the attachment separately. Have the users drag the email to a folder that workflow monitors and have the workflow trigger on files that are not eml or msg.
If you are using the Laserfiche Email Archive utility, it can also strip attachments and move them to a folder. You can setup the utility to import it directly to the folder being monitored by QF or to another folder and have workflow move it.
If you use Laserfiche Capture Engine in QF, that processes document from Laserfiche so no need to try and get the attachments to the network.
Ok I may have not been clear in what we are looking to accomplish. the hope is for the attachments are coming in in a scan to email from mfps. And we want the attachments to be moved to the quickfields capture configuration folder without the dragging and dropping.
Then use the Email Archive Utility.
1. Have your MFP send the email address monitored by the utility.
2. Configure it to file the email and the attachments separately.
3. When the email and attachment land in Laserfiche, use workflow to delete the email (if you want) and move the attachment to the other folder monitored by QF.
I am not clear on the folder you are referring to. In your case you refer to a folder monitored by QF. Is this folder in laserfiche?
Yes, you can set Quick Fields to pull documents from a scanner, from the network, or from Laserfiche. Since the attachment is now in a folder in Laserfiche you set Quick Fields to pull in the document.
I was looking for how to do that but I could not find where you could configure quickfields capture to process documents in the repository.
I see! Thank you so very much for your help!
