Question

Forms - Incorrect name of current step in Monitor

asked on January 30, 2020

Hello,

I would like to raise an issue on the name of the current step in the Monitor tab.

If we apply no filter by process, the current step name is the same for the same business process, as you can see on the first screenshot. The business process is Record Receipt for Purchase Order. For the 5 instances, the current setp name is PO-202001-023 Delivery which is only correct for the Instance 3320.

If I choose to filter by Processes, then the current step name displays correctly (second screenshot).

Same behavious has been noticed for other processes.

Thanks

Veronique

Regarding this issue, please upgrade to Forms 10.4.2 or higher. From reviewing the details, this sounds like a bug we had already fixed.

Bug 154487: When using variable token in the step name, it always shows the step name of the first instance for all instances of the same process when monitoring by all processes

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your reply. Will discuss with the team when we plan to move to 10.4.2.

Hi Veronique, I am wondering if this issue only occurs when the process is started by a workflow. We cannot reproduce this issue on our side. If possible, could you send us your process xml so that we could further investigate this issue? Thanks!

Hi Liyun, attached is another screenshot from the Monitor tab for another Business process. This one is a public form and does not start with a workflow. As you can see, all 4 have the same current step name, which is only correct for the one at the bottom.

Would you still like me to send a process XML ?

Thanks !

Hi, sorry about the late reply. Things have been super busy due to Empower. We still cannot reproduce this on our side. Do you mind sending your process or record a video showing the process configuration?

Hi Liyun,

No worries. I was at the Empower conference and can understand it was a busy time for all Laserfiche staff.

As I mentionned, I see same behaviour (incorrect step name on monitor tab when no filtering applied) with different business processes. So I do not feel it is linked to the BP (but might be wrong !).

I have attached a video to see the behaviour. I cannot attached a BP as it is a XML document.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing the video. We still cannot reproduce the issue. It's better to share your process xml. There might be some configuration in the process that triggers the bug. Without knowing the configuration details, it's hard for us to find the root cause. If you do not want to post your process here, you can send to Support@Laserfiche.com and make sure to mention my name in the email.

Did a case need to be made with Laserfiche?

Thanks!

Hi Chris, we still cannot reproduce the issue on our side. I recommend you to submit a case so that our engineers could investigate the issue in your specific scenario.

Hi @████████,

I haven't got any return since I sent you the BP on the 21st of February. Should I escalade with our VAR as well ?

Thanks

Veronique

Hi Veronique, I sent your process to our engineer team but they cannot reproduce it. You could talk with your VAR and open a support case so that our support team could take a detailed look at your environment and process.
