Question

Scanning / OCR issue

asked on January 23, 2020

Hi all, I have a client that scans files from a network drive, no scanner attached to the computer. In the folder are 20 plus files and has it configured to do OCR and scan each file as a separate file not one document. When attempting to do this an error comes up now  "failed to create the BPOCR Client.BPProcessEx process"           tried to find that error and it all points to a scanner driver issue but that is not the case here. Went through the routine steps with services and reboot to no avail. I've never seen this error ever before and I'm at uninstalling the client and doing a re-install as I think that is all that's going to fix it. Anyone with more information or suggestion it would be appreciated.

Have you had this issue resolved? I currently have a user experiencing the same error.

I've seen this before if you don't re-boot after the install. I'm assuming you've tried that?

I haven't done any install on the users machine. It is a community computer used in their office. I just got a service ticket on the issue and it couldn't be resolved by resetting the scan source.

Do you see the same issue if a different windows user logs in?

I just had another user log in and they were able to scan no problem. Went back to original user and the same error came back up.

Ah ok, so this narrows it down to something windows profile related. Try re-freshing the windows profile of the problem user.

Details on how to do that are here - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14039/windows-fix-corrupted-user-profile

Hope this helps!

I followed the link but I did something else that resolved the issue. I just deleted the users Windows Account in the admin console and recreated the user with the same group settings. When she reopened the LF client and tried to scan, set the source and was good to go. Thanks again for your help Chris.
