Default year for people who's date of birth is more than 50 years back?

I have a form that asks for people to input their date of birth. If manually entering, if their year of birth is within 50 years, the field will default to 19xx, however if their year of birth is 50+ years the field defaults to 20xx, but them born in the future. i.e 2/26/69 outputs 2/26/1969, but 2/26/68 outputs 2/26/2068.

Does anyone know where I can change this setting? I have tried to change it to only allow up to the current date, but it just brings the error up.

If you edit the field on your form - you probably need to adjust the Year Range for that date field.

I have tried editing, but it just shows the error to the initiator. It does not auto default to 1900s.

I've usually left mine at the default of 100 & 100. I'm not sure the year range is intended to be used the way you're attempting. I'm not sure if you could get the results you're looking for with some JavaScript.

Thank you. I don't think it is. It will output an error to the user, but the default setting may be embedded in the back. Defaulting 50 years back and anything over defaults 50 years forward.
