Move Pages Activity in Workflow - List of Acceptable File Types for Uploads in Forms

asked on January 20, 2020 Show version history

Hello and happy Monday!

We have a "Move Pages" activity in workflow that attempts to move pages from uploads in a form to the form itself. (Form saved as a TIFF)

I am wondering if anyone has a list of file types that allow the activity of "Move pages" in workflow.

We would like to use this list to limit the upload types on this particular form.

Thanks!

The Move Pages activity in Workflow can only work on the Pages level of a file which is typically generated when a file is ingested into Laserfiche

If you open the LF client and check your Options, under New Documents>File Conversion, the defaults are typically image based file types such as BMP, PNG, JPG, TIFF. You also have the option to create Pages for PDF files which is the New Documents>Setting Menu.

This will tell you how your system is configured and what document types will automatically have pages generated on ingestion. You can add additional file types to the list to expand the offering noting that this may not support all file types.

Hi All!

I'm attempting to do the same thing as the OP, use the Move Pages function in Workflow to grab file uploads and move them into the Form itself. I'm running into an issue with Word and Excel (.docx and .xlsx) files. I've added these file extensions to the File Conversion list, but they remain an issue, as Workflow shows no pages found for them when it tried to run the Move Pages function.

These files are being uploaded into the Repository via the File Upload function from within a Forms process. I'm not sure what other configurations settings I may be missing to ensure that they have Pages generated. We are using the Cloud system. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Workflow does not have any capabilities to convert Office documents and merge them into other documents.

Moreover, the file conversion type is for images only, so Office document extensions should not be added to the list.
