Cloud 2020.1 Bot recorder - doesn't display dialog for writing to a control

asked on January 16, 2020

I'm recording a bot in Microsoft Dynamics CRM using Internet Explorer on Windows 10 (Dec 2019 update).  I'm attempting to paste a value into a control, however the dialog does not appear so that I can choose the token to be inserted into the control. I click on the token button, but no list appears in a "grey box" (Help file says this box should appear)

Has anyone seen this and been able to resolve it?

Hi Kyle,

To clarify, what happens with you click on the token picker icon? The first thing to show up should be the following image:

From there, you can select the additional token picker for a list of tokens already existing in your bot recording session.

Alternatively, you can use CTRL-V to paste the last item your bot recorder picked up, or select any item listed under "data" in your bot recorder, reload it by pressing CTRL-C, and then paste it in.

Thanks,

Cosette

Hi Cosette,

I don't get that pop-up after clicking the token picker icon.

I believe it is a problem specific to MS Dynamics 2016.  I can get the token picker box to appear in other Internet Explorer applications.

Well that is strangely specific. Does this error occur for dynamics when using other browsers as well?

And just to make sure we are on the same page, the initial token box is there, but it doesnt open the dialog when clicked on?

Thanks,

Cosette

It works in Chrome, no problem.

I'm glad to hear that since Chrome is the browser we primarily support and recommend for RPA. We'll keep looking into Dynamics 2016 on our side, but hopefully using Chrome is a good workaround for you.
