Enhancement Request: Ability to Use Tokens To Set Retention Schedule

asked on January 6, 2020 Show version history

With the flexible records management abilities now in Workflow it adds a lot of new functionality for records management. However, configuring the Set Retention Schedule or Assign Cutoff Instructions you are not able to use a token. This removes the ability to use something like a database to ease the creation of the workflow. Instead a branch has to be created for each schedule, which complicates the workflow.

I have come across this limitation too. I have had to add an "error" branch for when the client adds a new schedule to their BCS. Currently I have about 10 different branches for each retention period. It's not clean and prone to future issues.

Hopefully, future releases will add this functionality.
