Empower Android app crashing?

Just grabbed the Empower app, I used it a lot last year and that was a great tool.

I get the orange Laserfiche Empower splash page, but cannot get passed the log in page of the app, I remember that last year the app was able to be accessed months ahead - is that true for this year as well?

I am on a Motorola Motox4, Android 9, App version 8.1.0.0

I downloaded it a month or so ago and have been able to login, search for attendees, etc. So...in general I'd say it's working. I'm on a Pixel 3 and Android 10 - App version is 8.1.0.0

not certain of the details, butI am going ot guess that the cities firewall (locked down pretty hard due to the 1 to 1 program with the students so they have internet access all the time) blocked some part of the app, I was able to go further in when I got onto my home wifi.

but...the automatic login function never worked for me.....

am in there now!
