Quick Fields OCR and White Space

This is a two parter.

1. Is there a way to improve QF's ability to OCR text? We are dealing with trade invoices for our convenience stores that are in many different fonts and sizes. Quality can also be not the greatest.  We are having the locations scan at 300 DPI.

2. Most of the invoices do not take up a complete 8.5x11 page, so there is a lot of white space.  It would be great if the system could zoom the invoice to remove the white space.  Anyone know if this can be done?

  1. the cleaner the scan, the better the OCR.  300 DPI should be enough.  Enable any image cleanup options in your scanner software
  2. Zoom, enhance!  It's a TV trope, not an actual thing.  You scan at the DPI you specify.  Most scanner software can crop out white space automatically.
