asked on December 26, 2019

Laserfiche Cloud Workflow Activity Email : does not allow you to choose the starting entry as the document you want to send with email ?

I need to send starting entry as an attachment via email.

Laserfiche Cloud currently only supports attaching files, it does not have the capability of exporting the entry. You can use Download Electronic Document to get the electronic portion of an entry and attach that. Alternatively, Find Entry generates both the URL and an .lfe file that can be attached to an email to allow users to get a reference to the document.

So if we can't attach a files how are we going to have workflow send out Invoices to people?

how do we have files send to People outside the company?

we need to send files out of the system... and don't want to use secure share

Hi,

Anything new with this theme? How can I attach a PDF document for external users to our cloud environment?

Sending documents to external users can be done manually through Direct Share. There is no Workflow activity for it yet.

Hi, anything new about this feature request (2.5 years later)? How to send/attach a PDF document by email with Workflow (Process Automation)?

Hello, looking at this from the next logical step.  I can donwload electronic documents from PDFs in the repository and attach them to an email task in workflow but if the entry is an image with no electronic document it fails. Why cant the image be attached to an email in lieu of the electronic document or have the action convert the image to pdf before attaching?

Even if there was an action to convert the image to a pdf electronic document as a separate step or action it would be acceptable but the only way I found was to manually download the image, as pdf, and then manually attach that pdf as an electronic document to the entry.

Is there a better way?

This limitation continues to make life miserable for process design in LF Cloud. I believe this capability existed even before Workflow 8(!) in self-hosted. With all the fantastic capabilities of Cloud we are all mystified why such a simple feature somehow gets ignored.
