Question

Connection with Office timed out

asked on December 20, 2019

We have few users that sporadically get the following error when opening office files from the laserfiche web client (we are on LF version 10.4, have office 2010, and have the office integration/scanning components install on these machines):

Has any one else experienced this error? Or any idea why the connection with office would time out? This occurs even if they have recently logged into the web client and go to open a office document.

Hi Hannah,

Was going to ask when the crash does occur, is the office plug in still available? or has it stopped? we used to have something similar with a client where we advised I.T to setup a rule that if office decides to stop the plugin (because it took to long to load), to make sure it is enabled regardless.

Plus it is occurring on all user profiles or some? and are they using RDP to access Laserfiche on a dedicated server? We found that having all the users accessing LF on the same server (as in Client / server etc. on the same server) not ideal.

Hope that helps,

Ziad

Hi Ziad, thank you for the feedback. I will need to verify with client (when she is back in office) if the plug in is still available when time out error appears. The issue seems to be limited to a few users. They are not using RDP to access laserfiche.
