This is something you'll need your IT staff to help with. The general approach is:

1. Get one of the backups that were taken during the time that the folder existed
2. Restore that backup as a separate repository, possibly on a different server
3. Export the folder from the newly-restored repository, as a briefcase to retain metadata
4. Import it into your main repository
