Question

weblink iframes using licenses

asked on December 17, 2019

Updated from Weblink 9 to Weblink 10.1.0.151  iframes do not display properly and since there are 4 iframes - each time the website refreshes it takes 4 licenses so it is a constant out of license error.  If we disconnect the sessions then the iframes will come up.  Has anyone run across this?

Thanks!

Linda,

What is the style of URL that you are using to call the pages in the iFrames? For example, http://mysite/weblink/docview.aspx?id=9999

The client said it was working fine until a recent Microsoft update.

Here is the code from the developer:

<p><strong>Village Board of Trustees</strong></p>

<p><iframe src="https://mywebsite/WebLink/Browse.aspx?id=26287&dbid=0&repo=Laserfiche" width="100%" height="300">

<p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p></iframe></p>

Well it doesn't seem that the following issue applies in this case:

Curious if this is happening in only one brand of browsers or has the client tried multiple types of browsers?

Hi Wes, They decided to remove the iframes and just go with a link so that's the end of that but I did try in Chrome and IE with the same issue in both browsers.

Was there ever a resolution to this? I found that when attempting to load an iFrame, sessions are automatically created that use up all the licenses. In other words, I am using the Admin user and as soon as I load the iFrame four sessions are added in admin console and nothing can be logged into because the session limit is reached.

This is usually caused by the browser not sending back the session cookie. Recent browser changes may be relevant, see this thread.
