Quick field session PPM

Hi LF Community,

We tested the same documents and session in two different machine, here's the result we got in PPM (Pages Per Minute):

Machine 1 : RAM [6GO] SSD Processor [3 core] ==> 52 PPM

Machine 2 : RAM [40GO] HDD Processor [32 core] ==> 39 PPM

which criterion influenced reading speed and PPM ? any analysis would be appreciated

It has been a few versions since I last checked this, but in the past, the OCR operations only supported a single core, so adding more cores did not improve PPM, only upgrading the core itself.

Also solid state is at least 5x faster than a disk, even if everything is lined up on the disk (defragmented).

It's most likely the disk speed.
