WF Designer editing starting rules user gets error "This user is not allowed to sign in using a password. [9073]

asked on December 13, 2019

We have a customer who has WF Designer installed on their Workstation.

As of today, when they go in and try to edit a Starting Rule they get an error: This user is not allowed to sign in using a password. [9073].

The Windows Domain account, the user is logged in with is a LF Administrator and when opening WF Designer, you do not need to enter a PW.

They do not recall ever having this issue before.

I had the customer run a repair of the WF Designer, same error.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the connection profile selected in the rules wizard is using a user that is no longer allowed to log in with a password. Please select a different profile or update the user in the Laserfiche Admin Console.

Hello Miruna,

As long as the WF Profile is setup and validated a user, other than the WF named user, who has LF admin rights, should be able to edit the WF correct?

Yes, but you're not getting an error editing the workflow (or the starting rule). You're getting an error from the repository saying the user attempting to log in can't log in with a password. The only user in the rules wizard is the one specified in the connection profile.

It's probably best you take this to Tech Support so they can get a look at exactly what is going on.
