Question

Question

attach folder to workflow

asked on December 10, 2019

Hello,

I have a form that triggers a workflow. The form includes student identifiers and I want the workflow to attach the student's folder and email the files in the folder to a user identified in the form. What is the best way to go about this?

Thanks!

Does the folder already exist in the repository or does the form submission create it?

The folder already exists in the repository.

In that case, you can have the Forms process use a service task to call a workflow that searches for the folder and emails it out.

Hi Miruna,

I have created the workflow, but there are zero attachments. The folder found has 7 subfolders. Any suggestions?

What is your search? It should return one result and that should be the folder you want emailed out.

I'm looking for the full student record that is matched by the student ID submitted on the form. When the workflow runs, it appears as though one entry is found. Thank you!

I also tested sending as a shortcut to the folder and that works. The issue is that the end user is outside of our organization and does not have a Laserfiche account. Thanks again for your help!
