Question

Save Temporary Copy feature no longer available?

asked on December 8, 2019

It seems like the feature to save a temporary copy of forms is no longer available, as I can't see the ability to add this feature on the server.  However, it *does* appear temporary copies of forms done before 10.4 are still saving as before, this just isn't happening for any new forms created after the upgrade.

Is there a way we might be able to set this feature again so temporary copies of all forms are still saved?  We experimented with this a couple of years ago, and left it on, as it was invaluable for recovering forms that did not save properly in some instances (cross-referencing with the Instance ID).

Thanks to anyone who can assist!

Are you talking about saving an in-progress form as a draft? That is still available in Forms 10.4. It is a setting at the message start event or user task level, where you can choose to allow a form or user task to be saved as a draft. The right panes for user tasks have a few tabs, this setting is under the Form tab.

No, I'm talking about all copies of submitted forms saving to a temporary directory, that used to be specified in Forms Configuration on the server. cool

We do save them to the temp directory, but they are deleted after they are processed. The temps are saved in C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche Forms\RoutingError and if they are NOT processed, they will remain there. Once they are processed, they are cleared out.

Hmm - I guess I found it strange that temporary copies were saving for forms that already existed.  This was a fantastic thing to fall back on in the event there were any issues with a document not saving properly previously (while appearing to save properly, and therefore clearing out the temporary directory you specify above).
