INSUF_ACCESS_RIGHTS error when trying to remove old Service Connection Point

asked on December 6, 2019

Hello everyone,

I have a client that recently migrated servers, and the SCP is still in their system so their old server is still showing up in their lists. They would like to remove it, but when running the lfscpcfg command, they are getting an error "INSUF_ACCESS_RIGHTS". We've logged in as their enterprise domain admin and run the command line as admin as well, but still get the error.

Is there a list of permissions required to be able to remove the SCP from active directory?

Thanks,

Cody

Are you running the command on the server you're attempting to remove?  I don't believe you can run that command on a remote server.

Hi Craig,

You should be able to do it from any machine (I've done this for other clients from their new servers). We did try from the original server as well and receive the same error, so it does seem to be something with domain permissions, but I can't find any listings as to what is actually required for that to be able to be removed.

Thanks,

Cody
