Document Locked with Persistent Lock 9167 Error

asked on December 3, 2019

Hi Everyone.

So I have some users who are getting this error when trying to save a word document into Laserfiche. There are no locks on the files, and it only happens in Windows Client. We are using Version 10.4 (10.4.1.193). What's odd is that they can open the documents and save to LF no problem with Web Client.

In Windows Client, the document appears to save the changes into LF repository when you open it up after a failed save error. So we get a error message but it actually saves into LF.

Anyone experienced similar issues or have a fix?

Hi there. So we figured out the problem. The issue started after we completed the Laserfiche Update. The users' experienced a problem where they had selected by default the View/Open With/Open Files Directly (Using WebDav). I don't recall selecting this for all users when installing Windows Client so I am wondering if it is selected as default when installing.  We had to de-select the webdav.

We were able to identify the issue through the comments that were displayed in the Management Console Locked/Checked Out documents. Dave Cox was able to then pinpoint the issue. Thanks Dave!

Is this specific to one Word document, or are there others?  My first thought was to check File Locks in the Administration Console, but that appears to already be covered.

I wonder if restarting the Laserfiche Server service and/or rebooting the server hosting the Laserfiche Web Client might help?  Just an idea off the top of my head...
