Web Client - desktop scanning default?

asked on November 25, 2019 Show version history

Can you make desktop scanning the default instead of web scanning.

Or is there a way to undo the selected web scanner, each time we go through that Window to get to the desktop scanning the system under advanced options we need to load the scanner, paper size, paper source, and color format before the advanced options hyperlink is enabled.

Can you clarify what you're looking at? The scan selection dialog remembers what the user selected last time and has a "do not ask again" option.

Oh I see, looks like it has changed since we were working on it last week. Now I get a prompt for Web Scanning, Desktop Standard and Desktop Basic. Last week it was loading every web module, one at a time, before we were able to click advanced and choose desktop scanning.

Oh, you're probably referring to the prompts to download desktop scanning or web scanning? Once you have it downloaded, you won't see the anymore.

Does it matter that the Windows User is different? like for example there is a workstation that is used to connect a scanner and each user will need to use the web scanning to initiate the scanning process of set of docs. Could use a local admin user and i login to everyone's Laserfiche cloud account and download the web scanning. If the User logs into the computer via another windows account.. will it still configure to open the web scan app...

Laserfiche Documentation State: "The first time you scan to Laserfiche from a particular computer, you will be prompted to install the scanning component. Once you have installed Web Scanning, you may be prompted to restart your computer. If you do not need to restart your computer, you will need to close and re-open your browser and then click the Scan icon again to begin scanning."

The word particular computer ... does this mean just one machine or would user without local admin rights not be able to open the web application due to it being downloaded by authed user? ... not sure where i need to google more to learn this
