Question

All-encompassing Watermarks

asked on November 20, 2019

I would like to have any document in Laserfiche print with a watermark.  I was thinking "Laserfiche Reproduction %(Id)" ,  Of course the %(Id) represents the Entry ID number.

I have figured out how to do this if a document has a tag.

I have also figured out that I can set a default watermark in the Options section of Laserfiche, but it does not allow me to add the entry ID.

I am looking for an all-encompassing way to have the watermark print on all documents (with the entry ID) regardless of whether or not they have a tag. Is this possible? If not, it would be a great asset to be able to add tokens to the Options\Print\watermark configuration.

The feature you're looking for is called Group Watermarks. You can add them in the Admin Console or web client management page when viewing Groups.

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/LFAdmin/Content/Watermarks.htm%3FTocPath%3DLaserfiche%2520Administration%2520Guide%7CLaserfiche%2520Audit%2520Trail%7CWatermarks%7CGroup%2520Watermarks%7C_____0

It's administered by trustee, not by document. Every document that the trustee exports will have the watermark set. You can configure the watermark on a Group, and then add whichever users you'd like to the group. You can also configure them on the Everyone group if you wanted everyone to have the watermark. The ID token you are using looks correct too.

I did set the Group Watermark yesterday, but when I tried to add it to the Everyone group, it would only add whatever I typed in the box. So in the case below, it wasn't adding the watermark I had set up in the Group Watermark section. It only added "Laserfiche Reproduction", and not the ID.

I just tried it again, and it worked...sort of....

I can see the watermark on documents when I open them, but it will not print the the Entry ID.  When it prints, it just says Laserfiche Reproduction.  I tried exporting, too.  It did the same thing.

Any ideas.

You need to add the token. So make it: Laserfiche Reproduction %(Id)
