Question

Security for Email Archiver

asked on November 19, 2019

Looking for some kind of advice or assistance on the import agent email config.

We have a client questioning the opening of port 25 between the email server and the Laserfiche server.  We understand that it works such that users are sending an email back to the email address and that in turn BCC's the email address generated from Import Agent.

The question we got was how does someone open port 25 between Laserfiche and the entire Office 365 servers on their firewall?  Limiting just maybe an IP and port or something.  They are worried about security or others relaying mail through.  I am out of my element when it comes to that type of architecture.

Thanks,

Chris

This will depend on the firewall you are using. Here's an example of how to set this up with Windows firewall.

Thanks Brian,

They know how to add IP's to their firewall, it was more of a concern that if they using Office 365, it comes from a variety of IP's/locations.  They might go about doing it a different way.
