Question

Update word document activity, convert to pdf moving text around

asked on November 6, 2019

I created a simple workflow to test the ability to make an "invoice". it's not technically an invoice but looks very similar. anyways, when i have WF send me the document as a Word file, its perfect. When I use the convert to PDF feature of the update word document activity, the PDF has the body of the document moved on top of the header.

Any idea of a way to fix this glich?

@Lucas, I have also run into issues with tables/text boxes moving around during the Word to PDF conversion. One thing that I found tends to help is to mess with the Table Properties and Text Box Properties of the word doc. The 'Move with Text' and other Text Wrapping settings have been the culprits on mine. I have also had to play with header margins.

Chelsey, it was the text wrapping that was the issue. Once I changed my text boxes to Fix position on page and changed my tables vertical position to Relative to page, it worked as I expected.

As for the text thing, I would reach our to LF support. They should be able to help with that.

Please open a support case and attach the Word document. We use a 3rd party library for Word to PDF conversation, so we'll likely have to raise a support case with them.

I am experiencing a similar problem with formatting changing during the Word to PDF conversion. In my case, the font is getting changed. I have a lot of information that needs to fit in a tight space so I have selected Arial Narrow in the Word doc template but the PDF is created with regular Arial.

Should I submit a support case as well or is there a way I can "sign on" to an existing support case?
