LF 9.1 Replication - Folder exclusion/"sharing violations" query

asked on November 4, 2019

Our customer using LF Administrator v9.1 has enabled the DFS replication between PROD and DR Laserfiche servers. Two drives have been enabled for replication;

F: drive was successfully replicated, whereas on E: drive they have a path that has to be excluded ("It seems permission is denied or the file is in use, so DFS is unable to replicate it. There are several file types in the path.")

The path is E:\lfrepositories\AscentricPRD\SEARCH

The error message is "The DFS Replication service has been repeatedly prevented from replicating a file due to consistent sharing violations encountered on the file. The service failed to stage a file for replication due to a sharing violation File Path: E:\lfrepositories\AscentricPRD\SEARCH\lfmisc.idx.sdw"

Is anyone able to confirm what impact (if any) excluding the "SEARCH" folder, which is currently stopping replication, will have when the fail over happens from PROD to Disaster Recovery server, please?

The files under search are the search index. Without it, you will not be able to run full-text searches until an indexing operation has been performed. (To be precise, you can run the search, there just won't be any results)
